This course builds on the HL7 Basics course to dive deeper into how HL7 works. It also reviews HL7 data processing functionality and HL7 data interfaces.

This course is primarily designed for IIS staff responsible for data exchange and interoperability efforts (maintaining & developing system functionality and HL7 interface onboarding, monitoring, and troubleshooting).

This course is also appropriate for anyone who needs a deeper understanding of how HL7 works and how the Implementation Guide constrains messaging.
